For those of you who are old enough to remember the commodore 64 it may bring back some faint memories of what started it all back in 1982. In its heyday if you’re not familiar, it became the computer to own upon its release.  Having the best sound card and graphics of its time it boasted a mind numbing 64 kilobytes of memory which put it head and shoulders above other systems to have. Many argue that it was the cornerstone of what kick started the home computer revolution and came in at a cost initially of $595.

According to sources it is officially going to be re-released by the end of April with a price tag somewhere between $250 to $900 dollars. It will include modern hardware on the inside to accommodate today’s computer needs.  It offers the ability to preserve your essential needs of functionality with a cool retro flavor. Apparently the exterior is so close to the original that many can’t tell the difference.

It’s slated to be supplied with a Linux operating system which can be swapped for windows if preferred. It is said to also have a built in Ethernet jack, HDMI ports, USB slots as well as the ability to connect to any modern TVs or monitors. The system will also include a standard 2 gigs of RAM which is expandable to 4 as well as a 1.8 gigahertz dual-core processor. Of course the standard CD-ROM  DVD player will be supplied standard but plans are in the works to supply an optional Blu-Ray capability. Fast Internet Types-Can it Affect Refurbished Computer Performance?

 

Many people who are looking are refurbished desktop computers wonder how much internet speed can impact performance. The answer you might find interesting to say the least. With so many different types of internet connections being offered these days how is anyone to know if one is better than the other?fast internet types

Since the inception of the internet there have been many radical changes. One of those major changes has been the way we connect to the internet superhighway. Its what’s known as a ISP or internet service provider. Initially AOL dominated the internet service provider revolution with a brilliant marketing campaign that swept the nation. They provided cheap accessible service by enticing people with all sorts of slick offers such as one thousand hours of free internet. The catch was it was always within a given month. Who is going to be on the internet 1000 hours in a month? Of course no one but the masses fell for the ploy in droves and what’s known as a “dialup” connection was born.

A dialup connection is probably the slowest connection to the internet. A computer is essentially connected to a phone cord by way of a modem usually built into the back of the computer.  This presented and still presents a couple of problems. The main one being that it’s unbelievable slow for even the simplest of web browsing. With so many websites now packed with nice graphics and videos it can make page load time painful. Moreover it ties up the telephone line so you have no idea if you’re missing an important call as well as the fact no one  in the house can make a call.
